Umrah For Foreign Pilgrims To Resume From 1st Muharram

From 09-August-2021, Ministry of Hajj & Umrah will resume receiving Umrah requests from foreign pilgrims. Gradually the capacity of local & foreign pilgrims for Umrah will be increased to 2 million pilgrims per month.

While applying for Umrah, the pilgrims must also present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate. The vaccination certificate must be issued by competent authority in pilgrims home country.  Approved Covid-19 vaccinations in Saudi Arabia are:

  • AstraZeneca – 2 doses
  • Pfizer – 2 doses
  • Moderna – 2 doses
  • Johnson & Johnson – 1 dose

If travelers have taken 2 doses of Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines then they will have to get a booster shot of any one of above approved vaccines.

Pilgrims will need to install Eatmarna & Tawakkalna mobile applications. Tawakkalna contains the immune status related to Covid-19 and is required to enter into malls, parks, restaurants & other public places. To accommodate travelers registration on Tawakkalna can be done by providing passport details.

Pilgrims will need to issue permits through Eatmarna & Tawakkalna mobile applications for performing Umrah & Ziyarah.

Travelers shall adhere to precautionary measures approved by the Ministry of Health i.e. in public places wearing a face mask and maintain physical distancing.
